    Default Cleaning/Protecting my Passport X50...

went with the Escort 8500 X50 (thanks to everyone who advised) - Just curious - would it hurt/help to wipe a thin layer of armor all or other protectant on the top of the detector housing? I figure it's gonna be against the windshield all day and didn't want sun fading...

    sure that would help

just make sure to test it in a small area first, but im thinking it should be fine on plastics. dont wipe too hard or you may take off the logo/lettering

You'll be fine - use the armor all and just put it on lightly.

I definitely wouldn't spray it onto the unit - put it on some cloth and wipe it on.
