Default So those white strips of paint across the road in Va?

Is this Vascar lines? Their about 1/8th of a mile or closer apart and they are completely across the road. I've noticed them when see'ing the "Speed Enforced By aircraft" signs. The guy I was working with made me take my detector down when entering Virginia. I'm going to have a REAL cool picture beside that "Illegal In Virginia" Sign 8)

If you see them next to "Speed enforced by aircraft" signs, then yeah, definitely VASCAR lines.

The lines are spaced out 1/4 mile apart. There are usually three lines. Sometimes you see only two if the paving crew has been working recently. They are for Vascar (airborne) use. The good news is that they are hardly ever used. They have been on the roads for at least 20 years and I have yet to see any enforcement activity.

A Leo, who posts here once in awhile, claims they are using them all the time, however I travel at least twice a week on a stretch of road he claims they are on all the time and I have yet to see anything but Ka band radar being used.

When you think of it using an aircraft and several chase cars to catch speeders has to be one of the all time inefficient and costly ways for speed enforcement. Then again it's the government and they specialize in inefficient and costly.

New Mexico has those lines too, as well as the signs. For years they took the signs down and the lines weren't repainted when roads were repaved but in the last couple of years apparently the NM state police has decided to go back to aircraft, at least on some of the more rural stretches of road. Though since the NMSP has had a shortage of officers and budget, it's unclear whether they actively use aircraft or can even afford to at this current time.

I think ELVATO has a photo of a Miami-Dade VASCAR Cessna that ran out of fuel and had to land on the highway. We seem to have a lot of it here, especially on Alligator Alley.

When I was training for my truck driving job, my trainer was clocked by aircraft and stopped by the OHP.
