Yes, another clueless BB sales rep.
I was at best buy, seeing what they had. Same old stuff, so I moved over to the satelite radios that were on display next to the RDs.
Some guy comes up to the RD and asks the BB sales rep to tell him about the models.
The sales rep provedes to show him a low end Cobra model ($61). He said that is was an older model with *only* 9 band detection, and that the Cobra above it (123$) was better and newer with 12 bands, that would protect him against all the radar and laser bands. He said it was very good because he had driven with it and was better than the 9 band Cobra he used to have.
I was snikering inside.
He moved on to a more expensive Cobra model ($163) that was better because it had (he read off the discription list) an awesome electric compass, and other things I can't remember, nor care about.
Then he moved down to the Escort X50s. He proceed to say that these were one of the big top 3. He said that he had also driven with one of these (or was it his dad) and that the range was awesome. They could also track 3 radar signals at one time.
At least he wasn't so bad here. I was going to cut him some slack until...
He went on to say that the blue X50 had a little bit more range than the red
 Then me moved on to the Solo 2. He implied that it was essentially the same as the X50s, but it was cordless
When it was all said and done, the guy went with the cheaper 12 band Cobra ($123).
During the whole thing, a part of me, wanted to stop the BB guy and correct him...but the speeder part of me stop myself. After all rabbits with Cobras are the best there is.
BTW, if this belongs in the Lounge, please move it there.
