Well at first I didn't have much money to spend on a detector but kind of needed one (80 mile trip to my girlfriend's house). I researched and had it down to a Whistler PRO model or the 795 and I could buy the 795 at a store around here so I did it.
Now I have a bit of money saved up and could upgrade, especially if I could sell my 795 for around $100. The problem is my current detector works pretty darn well for what I paid and I'm not sure if I NEED something better or if I'm just itching for something new/better you know? I'm going to college this Fall so I don't know if I should fork over the extra money or not :?
If I did I would be shooting for the $300 range. I'm guessing the RX65 and X50 would be my best bets? Are they really THAT much better? Some days I'm right at the speed limit and others I am pretty far over, but never had an encounter where my detector saved me but I know if I get pulled over they'll definitely give me a ticket with the detector up and I'll wish I got something better.
Any opinions? Thanks in advance!
BTW I looked up the most used radar bands in my state (PA) and my girlfriend's (WV) and in PA it was I/O K and in WV it was KA, I'm mostly in PA though. I know not much can save me from instant on except a rabbit which I use but just throwing that out there. Would a better detector really even help with I/O?
