No, I wouldn't say it is the best. I would say it is one of the best. But there are better ones at what they do. There is no "best." Each person has their preferences.

Nope, that would be the Valentine One.

Well, I wouldn't say that there is a Best per say because the #'s show different every test.

In my opinion, A Test is just that and most vary every time. There seems
to be no " real " constant because of changing conditions and situations.
Any of the $299.00 or better Detectors preform well beyond expectations
    for most everyones needs.

Yes, some do have a few milliseconds better gain on the other but
reaction time is slower then the chips used in these detectors. So
yes one may be better technically then the other but in reality nothing is
    really gained.

on the other hand - in every test done so far one clearly has been above and beyond all others. thats not to say that it wins each and every test on every band but by far it has proven itself to be superior in the all around category for years. placing 1,2, or 3 in every test would clearly indicate superiority overall. other detectors may win a specific test here and there but overall it is the king of the hill.
    Zombie until proven otherwise.
To all other manufacturers - Please feel free to submit any unit you feel is superior to my V1. I promise i'll give you every oppurtunity to change my mind!

If I was going to get another RD tomorrow it would probably be the V1. I've seen those arrows in action. Pretty amazing.

In this video, the Stalker Ka gun is shooting Constant On in front of us so we do a uturn and you can see the arrows do they're job.
    Then about 1.5 mile range

therein is why I love my X50, it beat the hell out of that old V1 I had on off-axis, and thats my most important feild of detection

Yes, it is the best from what I hear. I believe it is the one with sattelite tracking to eliminate false alarms, which you get a lot of with other detectors, especially the V1.

That's the 9500i, not the X50. 9500i shows a lot of promise but Escort has some bugs to work out of it.

But like others have said, the X50 is one of the best, if not the best out there. It all depends on what you're looking for.
