    Default Beltronics/Escort Tour

Tonight I'm flying out to the Beltronics/Escort factory to spend a couple days with their upper management.

Normally I do not announce these trips in advance, but if you have any questions/comments that you would like me to pass on please post.

Not saying that they will offer comments to all of them, but I will ask...

Ask them as many questions about the STI-R that is on the FCC website. One question that I have is will it have the multiple threat display like the X50?

Knowing their history of products under development they are very tight lipped.

it is WELL deserved. Mike B. and the team have done a great job and continue to do so. I can not wait to see even more future improvements

I'm interested what they have in the future for the 9500i, namely what the Mini-USB port will potentially allow.

If I had to create a list, I'd say:

    About the 9500i:

-Will the Mini-USB port allow it to be connected to PC or other device that can use the GPS capabilities of the 9500i as a GPS receiver? (Would be great with NetStumbler, Google Earth/Maps, and other GPS capable programs)

-Will the Mini-USB allow import/exporting of TrueLock/Marked location databases for the 9500i? (www.9500i.net might have a chance)

-What are the major changes or feature additions planned for later revisions of the firmware for the 9500i? Will these updates be able to be flashed via the Mini-USB port? (I could see potential 'bricking' issues from careless customers)

-Will they be willing to better explain how TrueLock works in detail (although not a great deal as to ruin "trade secrets" or patents) -- mostly Jim's theory on segment blocking and such? Addressing the 'problem' would be a start.

-Any time estimates for the above?

    Thanks Radar Roy.

    Roy,
Could you ask them when they expect to have a USB cable and program disc ready for the 9500i..... Also, what functionality would the program have.
I think that's something they wouldn't mind answering.

    Thanks

why does their customer service suck ??
any plans to improve it ??
any plans for a firm upgrade path to out of warranty STIs (free hopefully) ??
any plan to address the Ka band suckage on 33.8 for the STI ??
are they going to be hiding version numbers on later upgrades ??
