I have an RX-65. I occasionally drive from Tulsa, OK through Norman, OK (OU, my school) and from there to Dallas & Arlington. Taking highways I-44 W, I-35 S, US-287, and I-20 E. I recently took a drive down to Dallas on Highway mode and noticed that there were many cops running Ka band on I-44. I only ran into one K band. I also did run into about 4 Ka & K band signs. I only saw one LEO on I-35 my trip there and back.
If anyone travels these roads, what should I look out for in specific? Laser or POP.
I found X-Band to be really annoying when I came through door openers and such (small towns). Does anyone know if I can safely turn X-Band off? Or I should I just leave it on and would it result in any lowering of other band sensitivity?
I purchased this RX-65 very recently and I haven't learned to trust it fully yet. This was my first long highway drive with it and I was still very surprised with the results on, especially on the K band versus the Ka. It gave me about a mile warning with very good ramp up on the K band on a straight hilly road. I actually came across a rabbit in a Subaru with a Cobra unit...going from 90-100 through I-35. I used him for about 10 miles and I got a gut feeling that I should stop. I thought it was funny that he trusted his Cobra unit. I was following him about 10 seconds behind. Do you think I would have been okay following him as I was?
And also, should I turn POP off? I've heard of the inaccuracy of it and that people with RX-65's have been turning this feature off. So I am skeptical.
Thanks in advance.
