    Thanks FlyinZX-10R.

    (a) No vehicle shall be equipped with any device that is
designed for, or is capable of, jamming, scrambling, neutralizing,
disabling, or otherwise interfering with radar, laser, or any other
electronic device used by a law enforcement agency to measure the
    speed of moving objects.
    (b) No person shall use, buy, possess, manufacture, sell, or
otherwise distribute any device that is designed for jamming,
scrambling, neutralizing, disabling, or otherwise interfering with
radar, laser, or any other electronic device used by a law
enforcement agency to measure the speed of moving objects.
The key words that CA residents (or visitors to CA) need to be aware of are highlighted above.

I wonder if each seperate head counts as a device? having 4 heads could then be construed as a misdemeaner and subject you to arrest. I would think if they are all connected together, it would be one 'device'.
I'd think it will be considered as one unit. However, pi$$ off the LEO/prosecutor and it could be a misdemeanor.

I'm not saying don't buy one or buy one. Just that you should be aware of the law in your state.

Was your detector mounted high or low? Your best chance of picking up any scatter is with a low mount. When I had my RX65 up high it didn't alert to a laser that was pointed right at me! I have since installed my STI Driver low, almost on the dash just waiting for that County Mountie to hit me again! Alas, they haven't set up shop there since! As for radar, I get PLENTY of warning. On our wide open freeways (like I-5) I get at least 3 miles from the RX. I got a 5 mile warning on a stretch of I-15 (the signal was low, like 2). I know it was that far as he was parked when I got to his "hiding" place. CHP's can be sneaky!

Your radar detector is fine. I would def get jammers. I know they are illegal in Ca but the penelty is somthing really minor i think. Also the CB helps me out (only when truckers are around) just keep it on CH 19 and listen for alerts form other drivers. You might want a police scanner to if you are going to the extreme of using BiNocs to look for cops.
