What type of Radar is this?

Hi,

Okay, I know what the LEO uses laser in my area (Montreal, Quebec), but yesterday I saw a Provincial police car with a mounted grey looks like a small dark grey cup with a white covering on one of the sides pointed towards the road. It was mounted on her dash and next to it was the other device to read the output. The police car wasn't targeting anyone, I just happen to pass by on the left lane when I saw it...Maybe it's the old X band...
