Roy..... Do PD'S out west honor FOP or PBA Cards of Family members
Heck, I have a problem with then recogizing my FOP license plate
Depends allot on the officer and agency
If the agency has a strong FOP then yes
Roy...A PBA card can get you a break at times...Unless your really reckless
my FOP plate frame and plate attachement along with my badge does help at times...but did have an encounter where the tropper said "sorry sir, all i really need to see is your drivers license and insurance.."
What are these cards?
Fop: A man who is preoccupied with and often vain about his clothes and manners; a dandy.
The cards that are being talked about are "courtesy cards" Usually given to family and friends of members of law enforcement. Sometimes they work, most of the time they don't.
I never liked the idea of "advertising" that I am affiliated with FOP/PBA with the license plate, plate frame or shield on the front or rear window. It draws too much attention and makes your vehicle stand out.
A woman I used to work with, her husband is a deputy. She has his Sherriff Deputy card with his name and phone # taped to the back of her license. She has a note that pointed to the card that reads: Incase of emergency call my husband. She told me she's been let go multiple times because the cop saw her husband is a LEO.
I'm seeing more and more of the "thin blue line" stickers and tags these days.
