What it comes down to is that when your in a rally you need to be able to speed as much time as possible. This means that if there is a LEO with radar coming from behind you, with a V1 you know that he is behind you and you can just speed up so he doesn't catch you. In a rally waiting for a LEO who is behind you to pass and eventually go away will really put you behind. Also another hinden reason for the V1 among serious rally drivers is that the directional arrows also help no if someone in the race is using radar drones. Many of the top teams have Kband radar drones installed in their cars and will often activate them to get other cars to slow down. With the arrows it is much easier to see if someone is playing games with you.
