Radio Shack RD leaks as much as Cobra?

Over the past couple months, on and off my V1 has thrown a Ka false, and an occasional J-out, when driving down the street that leads to my neighborhood. I figured one of the residents there has a Crapra and that was setting off my V1. Today it happened and I sighted a detector in one of the parked cars, so I went for a walk afterward and looked into the car, and it was a RadioShack detector. A quick bike ride with a battery and V1 confirmed that this was the RD causing my falses. To further prove it, the owner of the car got in and drove off, and afterward the falsing stopped.

So, are RS detectors made by Cobra?

it is possible they are the same i believe i was once told that their Cbs are made by cobra. who know that are both crap!

Some of them used the same platform as cobras(made by BG Tech).

yea, just depends RadioShack has their name on a lot of stuff that's actually by a diff manufacturer(Realistik and Uniden make their scanners and CB's, etc.)

Most recent RadioShack RDs are built by the same company that pumps out PNI, RMR and Cobra junk. Its been more than a few years since they sold re-badged Whistlers and Bels.

Wow, I never knew that. Before I started working at BBY I was going to buy a Radio Shack. Guess it's a good thing I didn't spend the $150 or whatever it was they wanted for it.

Most recent RadioShack RDs are built by the same company that pumps out PNI, RMR and Cobra junk. Its been more than a few years since they sold re-badged Whistlers and Bels.

PNI and RMR are made by Attowave. Cobra is BG Tech. From what I've read on here. The old PNI range is now being sold by Q3 Innovations.
