I got an email in the Yahoo Groups for Radar Detectors, is any of this true?

There are some really bad news for all you guys using radar
detectors out there, especially where there are illegal !
Dont ask where the info is coming from lets just say that i was
involved in some of those projects very closely im still under NDA
so there is very little i can say !
1.) RDD , there is a new radar detector detector that can detect the
STI driver up to 200ft away and that can not be detected by any
radar detector ! this unit has virtually no false alarms !
It is currently tested under great secrecy by several PDs
in states where RD are illegal, all officers selected as testers
had to sign NDA not to disclose even the existence of this device,
the units are supposed to be produced and fielded in nov 2007, the
unit will only be sold to state agencies and police departments in
areas with large poulations (>50000) first, it will only be
advertised by flyers and emails send to PDs directly, miami townhall
has been banned from receiving any info !
Bell is going to have a hard time with this one !
2.) new Lidar
A new lidar is going to come out in early 2008, this lidar uses
a more sensitive receiver along with shorter pulses and lower PRF,
the prototype has been shown not to trigger any of the known lidar
counter measures, the prototype is capable of detecting a car with
front licence plate up to 6000ft oncoming and 8000ft going

A application to the FCC has been made to approve a new
frequency for police radar the use of modulation has also been
requested, if approved the new frequency will be used in products by
feb 2008, customers receiving the new units will be unaware of the
change, the radar will make use of a newly designed propriatary MMIC
frontend which will allow the use of lower transmit power due to
increased receiver sensitivity, use of the new frequency along with
the type of modulation used will make this radar impossible to
4.) K band Fun.
24GHz has been approved by the FCC to be used for vehicle based
sensor and radar systems such as parking aids etc., 24GHz has been
picked to avoid interference of those systems with 77GHz ACC systems
currently in use, once those systems are used they will naturally
set of radar detectors since they are operating within the detection
range of the detector so you may see a copy in every second or third
car passing by , kinda the same effect people experienced with X
Band door openers in the good old days.
so you guys have fun speeding and spending lots and lots of money on
your detectors , cloth yourself with a false sense of security and
then enjoy your tickets and fines
