Default Send in for repair or buy V1

Who would have thought -- 1 month after my warranty expires my v995 gets a Service Required message.

    So, now should I:

Spend the $100 or so for the repair

    or

Spend the $450 or so on a V1

    My V995 constantly alerts to a KA 2bar, around 35.698 (i think).
I have reset it many times but the alert keeps on going.
Then I get a SelFCAL3, message and then a few minutes service required.

    I think I want ARROWS!

$450 for a V1? Where the heck did you get that price? It should be $399 for a new unit and if you call Valentine Research and ask for one of the 30 day return units (most of the time called refurbished units by some others) you can get it for $360 which is basically getting a discounted new unit.

You could see if Bel will take your service required unit as a trade in. I think they give you $80 credit towards a new Bel or Escort? Not sure though.

If you have the money and want to spend it on the V1 by all means go for it. It is a bit chattier in the city but it is a dominant force on the highway.

    Default Wow-Customer Service was great

Just got off the phone with Beltronic...

Although I am almost 2 months beyond my 1 year anniversary, Bel will honor the warranty and fix my RD for free. they will also give me a new suction cups and power cords.

    Phew, saved myself $80..

But still want the V1, - I was on their website a few times ready to purchase.

This is great to hear, and good PR.

Did you tell them your decision dilemma?

I did not mention that I was contemplating buying a V1, in fact, I was more willing to pay for the repair than anything at all...I did not complain or argue. They want beyond there 12 month warranty and honored it for me. Verry happy - waiting for the return - been less than 7 days.

I DID buy A V1 today, I will receive it in a few days!!!!

It seems that Belscort has been working to improve their service rescently. Maybe all the pressure from this site is starting to kick them into the right gear.
