    Default wondering why Bell/Escort doesn't ...

Since it seems that everyone admires the V1 arrow solution (as I think about them, it would nice to determine threat location), why wouldn't Bell/Escort implement a directional threat solution in their RD's. It seems that they (Bell/Escort) already have voice and with the STi, two antennas (if I read some of the STi posts correctly) if they can couple/implement a directional threat solution with voice I would think that would be one stellar/stealthy RD.

I'm guessing the arrows would be exclusive to V1 so I was thinking why not use a watch/compass dial type system, with LED's/diodes in the 12, 3, 6, ,9 / N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, positions. The dial doesn't have to be big or very bright since most want to run dark at night so have them be low light emitting to show direction. I cant see that solution adding to the size of the unit or the cost. Would such a solution make the STi susceptible to Spectre detection?

What are you thoughts on this, is my thinking to pie in the sky

We have talked about this before and I think overall eveyone agreed it was a good idea. I think someone even made a prop of what it would be like on an RX 65 as it was before the STI was released.

Op's, sorry I didn't realize this was discussed already. Nice job on the person who crafted the prop. I'll see if I can dig that thread up. Thanks.

Only problem I see is when it tells you "K band in the rear"

In order to determine direction, the V1 has two opposite facing antennas, which I think V1 has a patent for. The STI has two forward facing antennas, one for X and K, and the other for Ka.

Don't be sorry, it was/is a good idea. I don't know why they didn't do that with the 9500 or STI. Always nice to get a new perspective on things from new members.

V1 has a patent on locating radar directionally with multiple antennae. I'm sure everyone else would LOVE to do it. Yay patents!

There is always a way around Patents, Belscort just needs to get up off there butts and improve on it.

As suspected, you guys are on top of these points and have thought them out well. As noted, now it's a waiting game to see if/when Bell/Escort will see fit to incorporate some of these nice to have features. Thanks all.

I knew Mike has the patent on that, but you are right, there has to be a way around it.
