it's probably better than a RMR, or Cobra
It picks up X band, K band, and Y band.
I've got one in new looking condition, but its speaker died years ago. Its pretty well built, but the electronics inside it are really crude, even compared to radar detectors produced during the early to mid 1980s. Its amazing that this same crude electronics technology is what was used to put men on the moon.
KY Band
I have about 3 or 4 of the Fuzzbuster II multibands and a few of the Fuzzbuster I – X band only RDs. I was never ever able to figure out what they meant by Y band. I found it curious that the multibands will respond to a Hot Wheels non-CW gun but that the Fuzzbuster I’s would only pick out a true CW signal. I have a few Bearfinders also and noticed the Bearfinder design is very close to the Fuzzbuster.Originally Posted by <<JAZZY>>
The other plus it they aren’t detected by RDDs like the VG-2 or Spectre III.
Things were sure a lot simpler in those days.
So what's up w/ this supposed "Y band"?
Some countries use Y-Band as a designator for very high freqs, like 200-300 GHz. But Y-Band was also another name for Ku band, which is what I think they're talking about in this case...Originally Posted by proudNMAmember
