Default Does the power cord on the Escort X50 get in the way at all?

I was debating getting the Solo S2 so as not to have a cord dangling down my dashboard, but I am kind of set on the X50. Can anyone tell me how easy this cord is to deal with in terms of appearance and being in the way? Is there a good way to tuck it aside so it isn't? Also, is there a reason so many detectors have cords vs. being wireless as far as improving performance?

A lot of people on here hard-wire the detector in their vehicle, and mount high by the rear-view mirror. Then there's no cord in your way.

Also: good decision on the X50, it will give you substantially better performance over the Solo S2.

If you've got a car that has a light above the rearview, with a switch right there too, you can tap into that. It's what I'm doing. No wire to have to deal with. Although next car I hardwire, I'll probably install a kill switch as well.

When I was reading the GOL results it seemed the Solo did worse than some Cobra. I'd suggest the x50 if I were you. The bonus is the cord they give you is coiled, so it doesn't get tangled up in itself or everything else. You can always hardwire it, too, with either the Smartwire kit or regular telephone cable.

As Jim said, A Hard Wire would be a lot better.
The coiled ACC cord was just a pain to deal with even
when mounted low.... I'd Purchase a Smart Hard Wire
kit and Mount your X50 High....
