Default Window Tinting: Madico Onyx (metallized)

Looking to get the sides and rear of my car done.

    Two questions:

    (a) How much of a reception impact are we talking about if I were to go for the somewhat metallized Madico Onyx (described here) as opposed to the Charcool (same page)? Or is it negligible since most reception will be out the windshield, anyway?

    (b) Anyone have any experience with Madico stuff? Gonna get this done in the next few days.

    Thanks.

I had Llumar on my WRX which was metallic and while it didn't cripple my V1's rear or side detection it did make a significant impact.

Go with a ceramic tint. The mettalic tint will cut down on your range and it might confuse the arrows by bouncing the signal around the inside of your vehicle.

'tis also much more expensive; was thinking about it, though.

Read a few posts at forums specific to the car in question about how some people saw a noticeable impact, and others didn't.

Don't really know what to think, but I wanted to do this in the next couple of days.

yeah ceramic is quiet a bit more expensive. I went with just regular tint on my T/A and it looks great, a lot cheaper as well.

My car cost me around 150 to get all of it done and it should be good for 6 years. If and when it goes bad I'd be more than happy to pay the 150 again.

    Default LLUMAR tints

LLUMAR also has non-metallic tints, wich are one of the best on the market and some are specially designed to not block GSM,GPS and RF/radar signals.A while back I saw a test done by some independent GPS tester. He tested car electronic devices:GPS,cell phone,radar-detector,sat. radio and garage door opener against the tints of different brands/design/models.I remember that LLUMAR tint had the best results.I was amazed how some metallic tints cut back the reception. The worst tint(with metal film) he tested, blocked the GPS signal COMPLETELY.GPS could not lock on satellites inside the car. When he tested RD reception thru tints,he used handheld K-band gun(Kustom Falcon).Too bad,I can't find that test to show you how other tint brands performed.
