Default Autoweek/SML claim Wistler p-78 is RDD stealth

I just read the new Autoweek and it had coverage of a recent SML test. The article was OK. It mentioned that SML is getting paid by all the manufactures aside from VR and it rated the top detectors the way they really stack up. V1 was described as being the most sensitive with the most falses.

One surprise though; the test showed that the STi and Wistler pro-78 were both undetectable by the Spectre III.

This is news to me, and I wonder if anyone can confirm this. If its true then there is a much cheaper alternative to the STi.

Oh the also briefly mentioned laser jammers, mainly Blinder.

The Pro78 and XTR-690 are not 100% invisible to the RDD's however they are low emission units and are less detectable than other brands except for the STi.

Very good results Michael B for the above mentioned specially the XTR-690 versus RDD.

The guy who wrote that article was really cool, but he basically had a crash course in detector 101 in 2 days.

haha yeah he just had 2 days. but super nice guy and I'm sure from his 800 pages of notes, hell the only time he stopped writing is when he got a lunch break. he probably just got the whistler mixed up, and if you send him a letter I bet they'll make a correction in the next issue.

he's an old school car enthusiast. cool dude.

nice to know you met the journalist. It would have been cool if he sent the article for review to one of the members.
