As you can tell from the title I live in Europe (Romania to be more exact) and i was planning to buy an 9500i until somene here told me detectors manufactured for US are not good for Europe...$#@$@!%#
I cannot understand why an Escort 9500i would not do a proper job here (in Europe) at detecting radars and even speed cameras (Gatso, Multanova) since 8500 x50 could well detect both of the speed cameras (and i assume 9500i performance is based on 8500 x50 up to a point) and 9500i also has Ku band detection.
I understand that Bel975,Bel966 or660 are good for Europe but i also do not understand why since i cannot find these models on www.beltronics.com for example (i figured they are older discontinued models ? ) .
I was told that the above models do a better job since they have narrow Ka band (what is narrow Ka band ? ) and the US models do not have this feature, 9500i included... BUT Bel RX65 in fact HAS an International Ka band optimized for ...well international usage and i've read in another topic that when this option is on it scans the whole range of Ka band (so it doesn't narrow it down like in the "narrow Ka" issue above).
- so is there a special version of the RX65 for European markets or is just a marketing tool since the US detector already has Ka band support for Europe ??
So...only Rx65 and V1 with Euro mode (is this a software update for the V1 ?? ) are good for European use excepting the other Bells i wrote above (975, 966 etc. ....) please help !!?
