So on my commute home I picked up two very weak 34.706 and 34.699 Ka band alerts. They quickly faded as I slowed to the PSL. The signal just went away. I had noticed that in most passing the 34.7 alerted to TennesseeHP. I went 2 miles on and then pulled a U-turn as I had not seen a THP. I came within about 1/4 mile of the spot I picked it up last time. I started down a hill for approx. an 1/8 of a mile. Then almost immediately as I reached the bottom of the hill and started up another hill my RD went CRAZY on 34.7, faster than I had ever heard my RD alert, then slowed to a normal fast-paced alert, but quickly faded. As I went past the spot, which was a cross over for a divided highway I saw nothing. I then went to the next turn around and pulled a U-turn as to be heading back on my original route. As I went past the first pick up spot and the 2nd I finally reached the bottom of the hill where I had been hit full blast with Ka 34.7. I went further down and did a U-turn as to be going past the spot where I found the signal. I now knew where the guy was sitting and decided I wanted to take another run at him. This time my RD did not alert til I was within 300 feet of the cruiser. I know my RD works fine, it saved my hide this past weekend on a trip to MTSU.
My question is... does this sound like I/O? This is my first encounter like this.
