    Default GPS LEO tracking device.

I’m going to assume that individual Cop cars are going to be tracked by GPS in the near future. This way the station knows whose where, and who’s best to dispatch to an emergency.
If this happens I could imagine a RD having a LEO tracker. Now that would be awesome!

I'd have to think some probably have this now. Most OTR truckers have the GPS installed so their companies can track their locations.

The trick would be finding out how to find out how they are transmitting.

That being said, if I were the police I'd stick one of those GPS units all over the place so you never knew what was real and what wasn't!

Seems like the suppliers of these GPS units could encrypt them pretty easily. I've toyed with the idea of tagging one particularly troublesome LEO with a GPS but after some thinking it doesn't like it would be worth the effort unless you could tag a lot of cars.

That was going to be my next question. If we could GPS tag all the I/O LEO's that would be awesome...

I do know that there are some of the DOT / DOC state cars equipped with tracking device for the safety of an officer in case of emergency.. and i did read some where about some poker party that LEO's were having instead of petrolling , which caused a disciplined action for all of them ..but the fact is its out there ...

secondly the uniden 996 match with a GPS can pin point the location of the frequency location so its very possible that either or gps or radar built in with all these feature can be seen in near future ... cant say out loud but i know some thing that you don't :-) :P

Detection equipment carry some risk of dependency. Do not stare at V1 arrows for an extended period of time without consulting with your doctor.

Can't see it ever being allowed to happen. Every crook in the country would want on to work out when there were no cops nearby.

    Would be nice though.

Exactly. It's not going to happen.
