Don't have the exact date, but Escort bought Beltronics out when Bel went into Bankruptcy and closed the GA plant and absorbed the needed staff/equipment into their offices and factory

I thought that Beltronics at the time was based in Covington, GA.

Beltronics at the time was owned by Rudy Sagl, who moved the HQ from Mississauga (a Toronto suburb) to the Atlanta area, most likely for the lower taxes in Georgia. Manufacturing/sales/service continued at the Mississauga facility.

After the purchase of Bel by Escort, the Georgia location was scrapped, and HQ moved to the Cincinnati area. The manufacturing plant remaieds in Mississauga, where they make all the detectors for Bel and Escort.

In fact they're moving to a smaller location, since service and sales have been consolidated in Cincinnati, much to the displeasure of the employees in Mississauga. What I was told by a number of employees is that they're pi$$sed that sales and service went to Ohio, they think it should remain at the factory, since they're the ones building the detectors. I have to agree--I've been to both locations, and it seems a waste of time to have a state-of-the-art mfg facility in one area, and the service team in another.

I guess since Escort bought Bel, it wouldn't "look" good if you fired all the Escort staff and only kept your newer acquisition...

Jerry, you mean they are moving from that Dundas/Winston Churchill location to a new one? If yes, where? Thanks

They're still on Dunwin, but they were either constructing or in the process of buying another smaller building, still in Mississauga. I was told the new street, but forgot (it was last summer) ops:
