Why Do Trains Set Off K-Band?

There is a Southern Pacific train that runs through town and often parks here too and every time I go by I get a K band warning. I think, but I could be wrong on this, that I have even seen a X band warning but it's K band that I remember most often. Drive safely and happy motoring.
