    Default 895 vs 9500i

I just did some vids of the 895 vs. 9500i on a k band speed sign, which are in the video section. It is amazing to me that a 150-dollar detector can out perform a 450-dollar detector. I made the run about 5 times with both detectors and the results were the same each time the 895 came out with further detection. I would think that companies like V1 and escort would be trying to maximize sensitivity, and V1 seems like it is. Escort must be more worried about making a buck then a great unit. Like I have stated before my X-50 rev 5 works great and I love it but the new products they are pumping out seem like they are junk. I hope they are reading this and improve on their products. The 9500i should have blazing sensitivity since you can lock out the false signals.

The 895 beat the 9500I by a hundred feet or so if you exclude the false the 895 picked up.
what mode did you have it in? apparently the 9500 filtered out the 1st false the 895 picked up.

I was impressed with the distance you got the alert on both RD's because of the hill.

There is no false there which i know for a fact because my V1 does not pick anything up there when the sign is not on the other side of the hill. I travel this way to work every day and there is never a false there. I always run my RD's in highway mode or A mode as far as the V1 goes.

I wouldn't say the 9500I is junk by any means or that its not worth $150 more. It should have close to the same or better detection than the 895 (both use very similar technology)but every set of circumstances is different. reflections, falses, oncoming traffic.
However you may have a less sensitive 9500I than others or you have a wicked 895. ether way both would of saved you, and isint that the end result everyone wants.
Did you borrow the 9500I from someone, and whats the build date. just curious.

Speed signs are never a good test to radar, because many times they are out of tune. A true test is a real radar source. The GOL did an extensive test and the 9500i came out super close to the V1, but with far superior filtering.

I am willing to bet the the speed sign was out of tune.
