You can't go wrong with any of thoes 3. If you can buy all 3 and see for your self and keep the winner and return the other two within the 30 days.

Buying detectors used is one of the worse things you can do!!! You do not get the most updated version of the detector....Also you do not get the the warranty

    Spoiler: show

    Radar Detectors-V1 & BEL v995
    Laser Jammer-Laser Interceptor Quad
    GPS Camera Locator-Cheetah C100
    GPS Nav-Garmin nuvi w/Trapster
    CB Radio-Galaxy DX-949 w/Wilson 500
    Scanner-RS Pro-96

In your opinion...you can get some smokin' deals on Ebay, message boards, etc...

A Bel 985 may not be the "latest" but it reports exactly the same as my V1.8 (non-pop) and filters junk out better. I bought it for $65 on Ebay...

Too much to worry about going wrong when buying from auction and boards. For the top models, you might be getting a slight discount, but there's also a good chance you're getting a lemon.

With the cost of a single ticket, court fees, and increased insurance premiums, isn't it worth it to get something you KNOW will work? Or you can save a couple bucks and HOPE it works...

I've bought well over a hundred detectors on Ebay and have had maybe 5 lemons (far from a "good" chance of getting one). I was either refunded by the seller or paypal, or sent it in for repairs and still broke even...

It's more than just a few bucks that you can save...and it's not hard to figure out if it's working or not...

    My $.02

I personally would never buy a detector on ebay because it has probably been stolen, modified, or broken. Read feedback of those power sellers who sell the X50's and RX65's in bulk. THEY REMOVE THE SERIAL NUMBERS!!!! they do this so Escort/Bel can't track where the detectors came from because they are either stolen or sold without warranty. Hankd, I would love to know how you sent in your ebay puchased detectors without proof of purchase because escort, bel and valentine 1 all will REFUSE to repair a second hand item. (has anyone read the post about buying a V1 power cord and V1 refused to sell?). I would just shop at Radarbusters.com or PM Radarroy, although he is on vacation.

Also, you are sure to get an older software version on Ebay, which in the X50 and RX65 make a big difference in performance. All of these problems for saving 45 bucks is rediculous. Get a new one and don't worry about problems like these.
