    Default Belscort v.s. Laser

Here is a question that I'm sure has been asked a million times. However, as it been tested? Guys of Lidar or to whomever has a laser gun and a belscort (preferably X50), please test how often the radar will pick up laser if... A) The radar is mounted as low as possible, right above the winshield wipers. and B) The laser gun is aimed at the vehicle's headlight and front license plate at 500 ft. and 1000 ft. (like the SML testing). Next time you guys get together, please do this test. And if the test has already been done please reply with where I can see the results.

    Thanks!

I think they plan on doing this (guys of lidar), but of course they also want you to buy their DVD too. I still dont know if they plan on at least releasing their results. That is a question that comes up though. The standard during testing is in the middle of the windshield.

Well with the x50 mounted to my roof, it would alert me when I am getting hit with a laser until about 200 feet away from teh source before it would die out.

Sethy, the X50 responded to the laser gun 100% of the time when it is mounted above the rear-view mirror?[/quote]

Yes it did, but when we started lasering keep in mind it was well over 1000 feet, and my car is very small. my x50 mounted high is even lower the an x50 mounted low in a f150.

It did die out around 200 feet away from the gun.

Thx for the information. I have a civic, and I'm guessing I'll be able to mount high as well then. I remmeber going across a speed trap where a guy was lasering (the same place I got my one and only ticket) and I had mine mounted in the middle. Never went off. Maybe he never shot me, maybe he did. I wasn't sure.

Well, during the laser traps that I encountered yesterday with the ultralyte, the x50 alert 100% of the time at about 800ft
