Took some High res pics of various detectors, it is amazing how simple it is to pull these apart and put back together.

Can anyone explain why there is sticky tape over the rear laser lens?? does it help???

Did anyone know it runs NAVMAN GPS Hardware??

Under the antenna there is some handwriting on the PCB saying "ERROR CODE, NO NUMBER" wonder what they mean by that??

Nice pics! Neat to see the different configurations. Interesting to see the V1's rear radar is really small, better than relying on something bouncing into the front I suppose. The pics give all sorts of ideas for creativity and customization as far as the readouts are concerned too.

very nice... I have been tempted to take my Pro 78 apart and if it is that easy, might as well. Very cool pictures, I wonder why the V1 has tape on the laser lol.

Hold the MARK and BRT button down then apply power. after a few secs it will show USB

I had only seen this when a USB was attached if i remember correctly.

I'm gonna take a guess here...maybe the the tape is to keep dust from occluding the lens? Hard to say.

The X50's horn is HUUUUUGE!

But I gotta say...those single-horn detectors are supposed to be "bi-directional" to receive signals from the rear, but I wonder how that can be effective, I mean there's NOTHING in those photos that looks like it would pick anything up from behind. They can't be depending entirely on reflections off crap hitting it from in front, can they?

Yes they can! They are actually

I would guess the rear lobe on those horns would be very small.

The metal tape is either being used to attach the condenser lens assembly housing to the casting, or (more likely) is being used to create a RF shield along the tiny gap between the lens assembly housing and the casting.

Thats my guess anyway.
