Straight line, no hills, perfectly flat terrain probably 10 miles.

Otherwise, real world conditions change depending on where you are--hills, corners, trees, etc. Any alert that gives you enough time to safely slow down is a good alert.

About 3 miles Ka is the best I've gotten, but I do mostly city driving and the cops use moving Ka.

In fairness you do have to consider where I live.

Its wide open barren desert here, nothing around for miles growing more than 6 inches off the ground. We are at 5,000 feet elevation and have Mountains here going up to 8,000 feet, but where this took place was wide open flat desert.

My normal range under less idea conditions tends to be in the 1.5 to 2 mile range, though I have also certainly seen far less than even that, always just enough notice though I'm happy to say, just sometimes too much. In those less cases its usually the result of a hill. In watching other peoples videos though and seeing what they refer to as a "hill" I guess they would consider a hill to me as a mountain to them. Not sure what they would call an actual mountain though.

I remember when I moved to Texas for a short time for my job everyone there were calling "trees" what I consider to be "bushes". If the thing is only 3 feet tall its not much of a tree, that's a bush.
