Default Mirror mount for all vehicles.

I bought this mount from countryjoycrafts. It was a little pricey but it is a clean looking install. I recieved my mount today and took some pics. On the drive it was pretty secure. It was a secure a mounting it on the windshield or even a little better.

Here are some pics of my install.

I purchased it from this website.

That's pretty slick, and basically what I've been after for a while. I should see if one of the generic ones would fit my mirror post. Does the detector bounce around at all over bumps in the road? That's the one behavior that I couldn't eliminate with my own rudimentary designs.

The 2 things I see that make me wonder about this is that BIG silver Z is going to attract a LOT of attention IMO!!
I know you can get that with out the BIG Z on it.

2nd thing is the mirror glued to the window is only made to hold the weight of the mirror, You are now adding more weight to that mirror and I bet over time with the added weight and vibration of the detector you might see some mirrors falling off the windows

That is cool that you are happy with it, and I like how it looks from the inside of the vehicle.
    Enjoy it!!

If you have used a mirror mount and hit a bump there is a little movement. Thats basicaly how this mount is. I also figured if it bouces bad i would just slip a zip tie to give the back of the RD support. No need so far.You actualy take your windshield mount and take the suction cups off and screw the metal part to the bottom of the mount. I think they said it fits all standard mirror post. I think 3/4"

that looks great, but i dunno.... seems a little low to me.

thats better for you with the regular wire to the cig lighter, but for my hardwire, do you think it would be easy to hide the wire's from the directwire and speaker? they come out from the roofliner right above the rear view...

I have a direct wire in my truck for my rx-65 and i rand the wires through the roof line and ran it down by the mirror, then i zipped tied it to the post and snipped the ends. Looks clean.

Not really. The problem is that the S70 has that odd-shaped metal bracket that comes down from the roof, whereas this thing is designed for the round posts that are used with windshield-mounted mirrors. Not only is the cross section wrong but the bracket in the Volvo is vertical instead of horizontal.
