Default Cheap detectors tick me off...

Driving home from class today and some young lady in a toyota solara keeps causing my RD to rail in K-band. Look at her dashboard and see some kind of RD. I bet the cheepest one she could find. Leaking all over the place! :x

And to top it off i hear an ad on the radio for a Phazer II.

Something that almost everyone on here agrees on is the fact that all RMR stuff is junk and always has been.

I first bought some lower end products. I learned my lesson. They dont even compare to my Rds i have now. Those cheaper units are jokes. False alerts seperates the MEN from the boys.

Trusting a $50 RD is like trusting a $.50 rubber. In the end they will both end up costing you more than you planned!

Exactly why I got rid of my Cobra 9870 and got a better detector!

Another thing that makes me laugh is when people have these cheap, lame @$$ detectors and they either have them pointing straight up at the sky like they're scanning for airplane radar, or pointed straight down. Oye...people....

You should know that people who have their detectors pointed at the sky are protecting themselves from airplane speed traps, right?

And for those who have the detector pointed down at their hood, are looking out for sneaky cops who hide under the hood of their vehicle and then jump out at them as soon as they break the speed limit!

If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

LEOs don't have quotas. They're called "performance goals".

I wonder if anyone has ever collected on RMR's "No Ticket" guarantee?

Apparently they are advertising on the radio everywhere.

What really makes me laugh is when I see a Cobra (or Uniden) on the windshield of a Escalade, 'Vette, or Bimmer!

Cheap detector or not, you're the last line of defense When I had my ESD 9210 I would speed all the time (max of 20mph above) and NEVER got a ticket with that. (Knocks on wood) The downfall to the cheapo detectors is not being able to turn bands off, thats why I got rid of my Cobra. Not because it didn't serve its purpose.

This is a really bad idea, but it just might run RMR under. So we all buy the cheapest RMR unit, then have an officer make up hundreds of "tickets" for us, and submit them all, and collect on the "Guarentee".

I mean it would take thousands of tickets, and obviously they would be fake, but it could work...
