laser problems

Hi i have a question. When i go by an airport where i live on my Beltronics RX65 it says laser alert alot. Is iit the planes or are their police who have a laser band out there?

Airports use wind shear sensors that use laser so that is what is setting your detector off

Also many weather stations use the same sensors that will also make your detector go bonkers

THanks for that help with the airport radar roy. I have a Bel65 how often are false alerts on this thing? and also i live in indiana how far can my dector detect singnals from?

False alerts are very low compared to other radar detectors.
The range would depend on the area that you are driving and conditions, but on a flat desert road, we can get a strong signal at 11+ miles

In the city, this is reduced to perhaps a couple blocks
