    Default Rumor for Virginia RD's

I heard from someone, who's father is judge that if you are driving through Virginia and you get pulled you should put your RD in an envelope addressed and stamped. The 50 would not be allowed to open up mail.

I would just make sure that your address is on the envelope as well.
I guess then it would be considered tampering with the mail if he wanted to open a letter that was NOT addressed to him.

I heard this too, i think that it takes a government authorization if the officer wants to open it.

Wow, is that a great idea. Does that work with everything? For instance, many states don't allow scanners in cars. Would that work as well?

Nice concept, but for some reason I just don't think this would fly, otherwise people would use that method to smuggle drugs or whatever.

If they suspected a detector, and suspected it was in the stamped addressed envelope or box, they would probably sieze the whole thing as evidence and then get a warrant to open it. They might even detain you until they call in a postal inspector to open it for them.

Either way I don't think they would be too happy...

just throw a stamp on the window of your car, write your address below with lipstick and you are good to go. Tell the cop you are priority post, urgent delivery.

    LOL

These ideas are so intelligent. However, even if he doesn't confiscate your radar detector, can't he give you one for having one based on observation? Even worse if you're speeding. Guaranteed a ticket~
