Default 1980's radar detector help SS 200?

I have a built in radar detector in my 1988 nissan z. It says SS 200 on it with a little checkered flag.

it is a remote system as it has a brain box, display box and a front mounted sensor.

I'm hoping you're not planning to use it. The 1980's were a completely different era of speed enforcement and equipment from that period would not be adequate protection for the threats of today.

Its likely that at most, it only detects X, and maybe it might detect K band... but only in the constant on modes and only at short distances. Forget being protected from Instant On, or pop... and the 80s were before lidar guns even existed for use.

But it would be a nice relic though to put on your mantle piece.

actually it is a rare piece apparently and my car still has this relic in it. other do not believe that Nissan sold such things at dealerships.

I am trying to find out what brand it is, age etc... only thing i see is the model number SS 200

Probably dealer-installed or a 3rd party... not a Nissan piece of course

I'd keep it but I don't recommend using it. It's age I would strongly think to be basically that of the car

I wonder if the thing is a Super Snooper remote model? I am not even sure if Snooper ever made a remote RD model. In any event, I can assure you that the RD only detects X and K bands and nothing else.
