X is still used in Oregon. Had a state trooper follow me for five miles with constant on, just last month.

Ok, State highway 2 in the North half of Ohio.
Hard to say. I've only been into this countermeasures thing for a few months. I'll know better by Fall, as I have a lot of driving planned this summer.
In Portland proper, I've only seen Ka band. There's some Lidar on the 217 and on the East side, but I've encountered none otherwise. I've never seen K or X band used in Portland, but it doesn't mean it's not there.
On the Oregon coast and in the rest of the state, troopers use K, X, and Ka. I've seen them all pretty much equally, but with a slight nod to Ka. Some of the newer looking black trooper cruisers surprisingly use X-band c/o. Maybe they assume most aren't looking for it.
As for Lidar outside of Portland, from what I've seen, it's mostly local departments, not state troopers. Stayton, Oregon, and other areas around Salem, have the worst reputation for Lidar traps. Some people deliberately take the 26 over the Mount Hood pass from Portland to Bend (even in chains-only winter weather,) to avoid going through the Salem/Stayton traps. It's no Ohio, but it's trying to get there.
Excellent info. Thanks. If you could update this page:

to include what you know, that would be swell! There's not much info on there about Oregon.
Well, I think MPH finally stopped making the K55 in the past year or three. However, they still advertise the Python series radars in X band, so X will still be around for some time to come.
As the price of K band radar comes down, it will probably become less and less popular for NEW radar purchases though. Even the largest K band antenna made today is still smaller than the relatively small X band antennas MPH is making today. With size being a consideration in patrol car equipment, that's a big strike against X band radar.
X band is still very much in use in NJ. The gun in question is the MPH Industries K-55, which, despite its name, is an x band gun. a buddy of mine is a town cop, and he helt me play around with the fun on the dash of his patrol car. While it is ancient technology, it works well, and in instant-on mode is lethal. I had a woman at Escort try and tell me that x band is no longer used anywhere in the US, and that I should lock out x band. When I told her that x band is still very much in use in nj via the K55, she said that is a k band gun. It was like talking to a rock....
lol thats the dif between escort cs and vr cs
I encountered legit X-band while driving through a small town in WI!
I wish I could come across legit X band. It's like a myth to me.
