Default Do you slow down when LEO is busy with a "customer"?

Do you slow down when LEO has party lights on and is busy with a "customer" on the shoulder of the highway?

In PA, like other states, you have to get in the left lane or if you cannot, you have to slow down if you pass any cops or emergency people on the side of the road. I saw a cop last week yell at the person in front of me who did not get in the left lane, where I was a couple hundred feet back. You can get fined if you do not move over.

I always slow and move to the left hand lane (if LEO is on right shoulder). There is no need to take risks and endanger anyone's life.

Yes, absolutely. Both for the safety of the officer and his customer, and to avoid a potential ticket. I've had a few times where passing a pulled over LEO I got zapped with IO.

Yes, and not just for safety's sake. Just last weekend I encountered a trap that consisted of two cruisers parked off the highway, one behind the other. The one in back had his blues on, and was situated so at first glance it looked like he was busy with a "customer". But in reality the "customer" was the other cruiser and he was outside with a handheld radar gun IOing traffic. Thankfully the V1 gave me plenty of warning, but it goes to show that what you see may not be a "customer" after all.

For those in NH, this was on 101 west in Candia. The trap was set up by Candia LEOs, not state troopers.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

Same here. It was passed by legislators after a state trooper was plowed by a motorist during a traffic stop.

    Default Slowing Down

I always move to the furthest lane out of courtesy for the safety of everyone--I have seen times down here in Mississippi where the troopers are with a customer---I think--they aren't, its' a decoy and they are popping us as we go by.
