Hi, I have a few questions for you veterans of radar/laser detector use. When do you see the most presence of either device? Like, when an officer is sitting in the median, he's more than likely either clocking with laser, or I/O radar and not constant on correct? I have used a cheapie radar detector that pretty much never went off to a cop sitting in the median except for 1 time where I got a laser hit. They were probably using instant on radar (or maybe laser and decided not to target me) I'm thinking that a good radar detector would have gone off from detecting any cars bieng targeted in front of me, does this work reliably enough for you guys to feel comfortable be it laser detection or I/O.
Laser use at night. I know that they CAN use laser at night, but do you see lots of it, or is it mostly radar? If radar, what kind I/O or C/O? What about miles of unlit highway. I would assume it's easier for the officer to use radar instead of laser as it would be more difficult to find a good place on the car to hit unless he doesn't mind staring at the headlights. Anyhow, any other info you can give me would be great. Thanks. RTT.
