So it sounds like no fee to make the swap? Too bad this can not be through a home computer.
There will be a fee to upgrade your CPU but it will be cheap!
Because of Proprietary and Intellectual Property issues as well as for security reasons, at this juncture, LI will NOT have a mechanism in place for LI Users to download the changes to the firmware themselves. This may change at some point in the future and I am pushing for this myself but, for now, this is a viable solution if and when the need for such a facility becomes necessary!

Ok, I thought the fee was to be hold fee until the swap was made. I wonder how long it will take for them to get the 20/20 gun and make the update and then have it available.
The LI CPU's processor stores all details, included PPS, of any and all LIDAR encounters. If the Generic Alogarythm is insufficient to deal with the LTI TruSpeed, unlikely, or, as the case might be as newer LIDAR guns come to the marketplace, and they will, it can then be sent to Croatia and LI-Croatia can then read out the details from the memory of this CPU from which a new jamming Alogarythm can formulated to jam the new LIDAR threat. Users may then simply go to the LI-USA Website and purchase an Exchange Upgraded CPU. A small deposit, as well as a charge for the upgrade, will be available in the Online Store and the Exchange Upgraded CPU will be shipped to the user. Once received, the user simply swaps the updated CPU for theirs and returns their old CPU to LI-USA using a prepaid, return addressed envelope included with the exchange CPU. Once their original CPU is received back at LI-USA, their deposit will be refunded.

Cliff,
While it is nice that the LI stores the recieved pulsetrain for possible later analysys, I don't think that it alone would be sufficient to build an optimal jamming sequence.
To do that, you have to experiment with the gun and see what failure models it has (e.g. for panning), and target those. FWIW the pulsetrain of many guns is available in the public domain (and in most cases, is very simple)

There is both an small Upgrade CPU Fee as well as a refundable security deposit requirement.

The TruSpeed issue has been in the works for 24 hours!
I assure you all! I am on it! Don't forget, I drove too! A lot!!
Our technical team is more than capable and knowledgeable about addressing this issue and have a reputation to attest to this!

Mem-Tek thanks for all your help during the test!!!
Mem-Tek was complemented by various people that attended the test for his knowledge in the field!!
As far as discussing the "official results" Mem-Tek and I are sworn to secrecy until the results are published in the next few weeks....
Yes there was POP testing, yes there was laser testing, No I cannot discuss the results right now
You are most welcome Roy!
Everyone, even though I am dog tired I had a blast at SML and thoroughly enjoyed meeting and getting to know Roy. On the second night at SML Roy cooked us up two of his famous "Sturges" steaks and some baked potatoes. (Sturges is a big biker rally for those who don't know.) Those steaks and baked potatoes were darned good! Roy is one hell of a good dude and is aces in my book. After dinner Roy and I kicked back in chairs outside of his RV, drank a few beers, and chatted up a storm. He told me a few stories from his cop days which had me absolutely dying with laughter.
A bit earlier while we were inside his monster RV finishing eating dinner, Happya$$ called me and asked how things were going and how I liked meeting Roy. I replied that Roy is a really good and friendly dude and that so far I was having a really good time.
Happya$$ then said, "Don't worry, Roy will take really good care of you."
I was looking at Roy, with his earring in his left ear and who had just buttered me up by cooking a really good steak dinner, replied, "That sounds kind of sick!"
Happya$$ replied, "Oh no. Oh God no! That is not what I meant! You don't have to worry about that!" I knew that I got Happya$$ really good since I could hear him uncontrollably laughing on the phone!
I also really enjoyed meeting Carl Fors. Car is a very nice, conscientious yet fairly quiet spoken individual. How he manages to orchestrate these tests and at the same time address any issues and questions from everyone is absolutely beyond me. I quickly saw that hosting the SML event and conducting the tests is extremely hard work. My hat is off to Carl. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes and have to try to juggle all of the questions, verifying that all equipment and test courses are set up properly, making sure that each test vehicle has an independent observer in it who usually is a police officer, periodically swapping out assigned observers for each RD manufacturer's test vehicle, accommodating any special test requests which a manufacturer would like to try which never are part of the SML test results, et cetera. The pressure on Carl at SML must be incredible, and sometimes this showed on his face. I don't relish his job, yet admire Carl for how well and smoothly the tests were conducted.
Yeah, we are sworn to secrecy regarding the test results. It is Carl's show and needless to say it is Carl who first publishes the complete SML report and test results. I wouldn't have it any other way.
A lot of the testing required us to drive around in circles back and forth from where the start cone was located to where the radar or laser guns were located. This part of the testing was very interesting yet also was very tedious work. I definitely do not want to see another mesquite tree until next year, assuming that I get invited again to SML! The police officer assigned to me as an observer during these tests where we drove around in circles had only managed to get four hours of sleep after his shift before having to go to SML. His name was at the bottom of the list and none of the other officers in his group "volunteered" to work at SML since they already had other plans on their day off. Thus he was told, "You are going to SML!" He didn't know a thing about radar detectors, but he asked a lot of questions and got a quick education from me. He is even thinking about getting a RD for his personal use after seeing how they work. Yep, he may have gotten bitten by the RD bug.
Speaking of the police officers at SML, all of them were really cool and very friendly. Some of them have been to SML on one or more previous occasions, enjoy the testing, and seem to be genuinely fascinated with the technology aside from strictly a law enforcement standpoint. I guess that they are gadget fanatics like a lot of the rest of us too.
Thank goodness that we had a fair amount of high cloud cover during the day while the tests were being conducted. Still, it was very hot, I had to drink many bottles of water, and have a sunburn to boot. Everyone was very happy when each day's testing finally wrapped up.
I guess thats it for now. I am still very tired after returning home.
