    Default SML Day One

Just finished day one of our radar detector and laser jammer testing here in El Paso with SML...

For a review of Mem-Tek and my observations visit: Radar Detector Testing Day One - SML

Thanks for the info, can you tell us any more about the new Whistler?

Is LI going to have to upgrade their software?
Maybe this new gun from LTI is the reason the ZR4 release was delayed...

Interesting Roy. Thanks. There were reports that the distribution of the ZR4s were held up because Escort was installing the algorithms necessary to jam two new laser guns that had not yet hit the market. I'm curious if this new LTI laser gun is one of those guns.

    Spoiler: show
Mustang GT Convertible, 9500ci, Veil, V1 3.812 hardwired with X and K off, Laser Interceptor Quad.
9500ix confiscated by the woman and hardwired high in her car.

It was delayed, but not for this gun. This was the 1st hands on that Mem-Tek and I have had on it. Mem-Tek was impressed on how lite the gun was, very cool gun to operate...

My tests were not the official SML tests and they are not including the LI in their review.

I did make a video of the new Whistler, when I get home I'll edit and post

Can not discuss official results till SML posts

    Oh, forgot one thing
Mem-Tek made an observation on the STI's being tested that they have made an improvement of their audio ramp up.

The STi also kicked butt during the laser testing!

You got to be kidding me, can we have the names and addresses of the engineers who make this stuff ??

I also got a couple hours behind the scope of the new LTI (Laser Technologies Inc.) 20/20 TruSpeed laser gun. According to an engineer this gun uses a new algorithm, is vertically polarized and operates on 905 nm. The manufactures’ maximum recommended range is 2000 feet and its normal short range distance is 50 feet. The TruSpeed also has an inclement weather programming feature that increases the short range distance to 200 feet.

Was it comparable to the V1?? Can it detect all laser guns??

    This just doesn't add up...

If it's on 905NM how can any of them see it? Further more if the ZR4 or Blinder are not optimized for it, they would have no chance. The only thing that would if it's actually on 904 would be the LI due to brute strength. That is if it's the new Gen 2, and not a broke Gen 1.

1nm? I bet money that neither the LIDAR gun receiver ciruitry nor the LIDAR jammer circuitry can see the difference. It just shows that, like is typical of most proprietary products, "new" $something almost always means "hackishly tuned version of the old product"
