    Question radar drones?????

these things have shown up on a road i use here in the past week and my V1 goes nuts on K band as i pass them.

I have never seen radar drones before so i can only assume thats what they are

really hope they wont be there permanently

They won't be if you take a sledgehammer to that padlock!

Could be a traffic speed monitoring thing (to tell if there is a traffic jam or fluid traffic)

    we think alike

Could be a traffic speed monitoring thing (to tell if there is a traffic jam or fluid traffic)
its actually only an access road to the actual main one and its rarely busy if ever. theres another one of these things a mile or less away on the actual main road that is strapped to another lamp post right next to a "police use only" speed check ramp where they run laser from at times.

i doubt youd get an alert before being lasered due to the short enough range of them but its like an I/O blast as you pass them though.

    very f**king annoying

could be what SmaartAasSaabr said. are their any video camera's above? no the speed cams but regular video cams they seam to be using both cams and radar for traffic monitoring in some places.

good thing you have a V1 the LEO's could use this to their advantage and hide near them and nab unsuspecting RD users thinking its' just the drone.

i didnt see any cameras of any kind there but i will look more closely next time.

well, its nearly all laser here so im well equipped . that and very few people here use RDs because of the costs and legality although a few have been caught in the last few years with them all right .

the bogey counter on my V1 is reporting up to 3 signals but theres clearly only 2 there and the other single one further up the road has caused 2-3 bogeys to show up as well .

i hope my V1 isnt prone to ghosting or whatever causes this but its still lethal on laser though and as i mentioned earlier, laser is the main threat here so its not a big problem really.

My first thought after reading this was to break them. Just make sure there are no cameras and go at night and then take a hammer to them(as mentioned above).

If I ever saw any of those in Dallas I would go break them whenever I had the chance.

Do the right thing for the RD community and get rid of those suckers!

To my knowledge, it is illegal in NJ to issue a ticket based on camera footage. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)
