Default SML -- The Bel and Escort RDs and how they were set up and tested...

    Hi everyone,

I finally have caught up on much needed sleep and wanted to post how the various Bel and Escort radar detectors were tested at the 2008 SML event. So, forthwith, here is the link to my personal observations and photos which show how the Bel and Escort radar detectors were both installed and tested:

Well, let me know what you think. Everything stated is the truth regardless of what you might think.

Actually, I can't wait either since nearly all of the time I was being interviewed and didn't have the opportunity to pay attention to the radio transmissions regarding the performance of competing products. I strongly suspect that the Bel/Escort products will post very strongly, yet it will be nice to finally see the SML test results when they are made available.

Yesterday I got news from Roy that I get to keep the 9500ci! Yippie! I haven't installed it yet since just yesterday all of the RDs which I tested at SML arrived here via UPS. I am also being allowed to keep the other RDs for a few weeks so that I can write up my own personal reviews for each of them, similar to the Whistler Pro78 review which I wrote up a few months ago. Yep, I plan to take each one apart in order to show you guys clear photos of the internal construction, just as I did for the Pro78 review.

    Wow, how cool is that?

Seeing your original Escort and Passport brought back some memories too. I still have an original Escort if I can find it in the mess my wife has created in the garage these past 16 years. Sadly, my Passport was stolen and the Escort stopped working. Maybe I can fix it. Still looks good -- no dents or scratches -- but I wish I had the original box.
