You will be pretty disappointed by your 9500i's performance once you get used to the 9500ci. Trust me. The 9500ci will drive you batty the first couple of days however, due to all the false alerts. At least, these things are true for me.

What about aftermarket windshields? Have they been tested? Any particular ones to look out for? Not a single one of my vehicles still has its original windshield, and most get replaced on a regular basis thanks to pebbles, etc.

I'm not aware of any aftermarket windscreens that are Athermic. Some enthusiasts in the past have had similar accidents with pebbles which required the windscreen to be replaced. As a side effect, they noticed an improvement in the detection range.
