I can. Given that radar detectors are sensitive devices and stand a good chance of needing service, you absolutey need a warrantee. You kiss that goodbye if you buy on Ebay!

id say get one from ROY but if need be and you have to get one from ebay, make sure they are a good seller, One ebay seller actually gives you a 12 month replacement warranty, if it dies in first 12 months you just send them the RD and they send you a new one.

Stay far from ebay, it cancels the waranty and youll never get the service that you can get from Roy

Do not buy from ebay. Especially Bel/escorts. They usually start having their famous "service required" messages after 2 years (not always), and then you are screwed.

You need the warranty for these devices .

Only buy from ebay if you can get a killer deal.. Like an X50 for 100 bucks.

People saying don't from ebay because you won't have a warranty is ridiculous!! if you purchase a detector from a seller that's a member of square trade you can obtain a warranty or you can simply purchase a warranty directly from ebay for under $20.00. Either way should something happen to your new detector you'll be fully covered!!

I purchased my new x50 blue from ebay with a full coverage warranty for a little over $200.00 good luck finding a price like that any where else!

    Don

I buy from Ebay all the time. Sell a few things too. If the seller misrepresents the item then you have a legal recourse to get your money back. Usually Ebay will get this done for you. I've purchase 2 RD's from Ebay. I even purchased a conversion van on there.

The 3 times I've been screwed were by sellers with 100% positive ratings so don't let that concern you too much if they don't have 100%. Those 3 were long ago before Ebay would help you recover money. I stick with those that have a rating above 97% and I check out why they've gotten negatives. Also, if they have a bunch of sales (>500) they don't want to lose their Ebay account so they will tend to work with you to resolve issues rather than Ebay having to do it for you, which may get them shut down.

I've bought hundreds of RD's on Ebay and have had problems with maybe 6-8 (all Bel or Escort). Some of those were misrepresented by the seller, other times they were packed well and needed calibration after they got to me.
