Anyone ever used it?
It's a K-band 24.150 GHz, with about 1500 ft range. It's about $100. I thought one could mount a cheap scope on the top of it.
Use it for testing.
Thoughts?

u can nail cobra users on the highways and Interstates for a good laugh.
they're ok... should be able to snag one for < $100 though
my advice is camp out on ebay and try to snag a falcon or mph handheld k band gun; they're a bit more powerful and usually have the doppler audio and can lock a speed and other fancy features.
They work fine............................

I have one, but I never thought it would be useful for testing the range of an RD due to its lower power output when compared to actual police K band radar units. I'm not really sure how much lower the power output is? That is just what I have read, but I also have read there are a few handheld police radar guns that one need NOT have an FCC license to operate. This would mean that those guns, too, would have lower power outputs compared to the rest of the police radar line up. Someone correct me if I am wrong?I have done this and yes, it is always a good laugh. The Cobra users don't seem to react until I've been transmitting for a good almost 10 seconds, probably because Cobras don't really have any instant on alert and try to simulate a good ramp up even when they're suddenly hit with instant on. Am I correct here? I did nail a guy with an Escort once, and boy did he slam the brakes. I then waved the Bushnell out the window as I passed him so he was aware of what happened. After that, he passed me and just sort of looked over at me. Haha I thought it was amusing. I also got a V1 user to react similarly in the middle of the night. The funny thing is that a few miles down the road there actually was an LEO with somone pulled over. I'm positive he thought this is what his V1 alerted to. Several times I've spotted other RD users at stop lights and will light them up with the Bushnell and laugh at them looking around and around frantically trying to find the LEO.
I would like to say though that you never want to do this in heavy traffic or anything like that. I mean I would hate to be the cause of an accident just trying to get a laugh out of someone hitting their brakes trying to slow down for an LEO who isn't there to begin with.
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!
If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?
