Default Help: Looking to buy a detector... I'm such a newb

    Hey all,
Newbie here. I live in MD and travel heavily on I-70, and those from the area know there's always freaking troopers on there. I'm confused as to what I should get for a detector, since I've never had one before and I'm just researching things out. I've read on here that the V1 is better if you're mainly on highways (which I am) but annoying in the city with the falses. I'm torn between that and something else because I'm on highways a lot during the school semesters, but I'm in the suburbs during the summer and during breaks and such. I also want something that's relatively easy to program because, like I said, I've never had one before and I quite frankly need VERY clear directions or else my wittle mind will get confused.

Any tips from anyone as to what I should get? I'd especially like to hear from people who are in the state as to what they prefer.

    Thanks!
    Alex

Kind of curious why you don't go with the X50 since it can detect 2K 2KA and 4 X at the same time, compaired to the rx65's 1 X 1 K and 1 KA, at the same ime other then the issue of KU band....Don't get me wrong I hear the rx65 is a killer detector, but I know in my city when im driving by a false spot on K band, it will only show 1 bar. If there are 2 bars- that means there is a cop. I think the multiple threat detection is very necessary when you get into sensitive detectors.

I'm thinking about where in MD I-70 is and I'm thinking falses shouldn't be much of a problem except in Baltimore maybe, no?

I have the V1 with POP1 because I haven't upgraded to POP2 yet and I very rarely get falses driving around New Orleans. I drive on interstates with it on the big "A" and in the city with it on little "L" and have no problems at all with it.

If you want an all around detector, get a the rx65 or the x50- if you want an insane highway detector, get the V1. My town is pretty darn small, and the V1 loves to talk.

Say bigeasy, I've never heard of the POP1 for a V1. I guess that means you dont have POP protection on both bands? How much is it for an upgrade to POP2 from POP1 on v1's website?
