Was going down a slow road today (25mph) as my v1 picked up a k band. Went down the road at psl, seeing no cop, then as i passed a light pole the arrows went sideways then back after i passed it. Went back to examine where/what was shooting and saw there was a box, like a phone service box on a home, strapped to a light pole at about 6' up. I guess its tied into the poles power and clocking peoples speed to get a survey of how fast people are driving on this road, then storing the info for a patrol car to come get the data later. I saw a cruiser parked in front of it at lunch. I wonder if they can dload the info wirelessly or maybe they have to go into the box to get it. Then again i could be completely wrong. Maybe someone can verify what it is for me.
The image got skewered but as you can see it's just a platic box with no opaque or transparent front...

Interesting, I wish the picture wasn't skewed. I was thinking maybe a TNI (telephone network interface) or a cable box of some sort -- it looks like it opens from the front. I don't know tho, can't see the inside of the box or particularly what the box looks like whole since the image is skewed. It looks like there is some cable or possibly an extension cord running to it? I donno.. I'd drive back and try to open it and take pics of the inside.

sry..... I get carried away. ................ BURN IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!! Take note of Avatar!
(I don't know whats up with the gay music... seriously........
The box is held onto the pole by a winch type strap which shows it's temporary nature. The red cable looking thing is a cable with a lock, so if you cut the strap, you can't run off with the box, like a bicycle lock. The box is the same kind as a phone or cable box, only it's square with no in or out holes for cable, wire, ect. It's locked shut, and if it's powered by the pole, it's done so through where it's attached. Again, there was a cop parked in front of it at lunch so what else can it be. It emits at good strength as I picked it up a half mile down the road at an s curve. 2morrow I'll take my 9500 to see what freq. it's on.
