My worst detection is along a roughly 100 mile stretch with curves, hills and foliage, where I often don't get any alert at all when more than about 1000 ft (3/16 mi) behind a presumed rabbit. I've noticed that the LEOs often hold the handheld guns with the handles horizontal rather than vertical. The frequencies are usually betwen 34.6 and 34.9, and I believe mostly Stalkers. Does this change the polarization from vertical to horizontal? If so, could it help if I mount my radar detector vertically rather than horizontally? Would a 45 degree angle be a good compromise, or would that be even worse?
