    Default First POP encounter?

My 9500ix is, of course, very quiet and I have been running with POP enabled since we have a few 33.8 guns out here.

Well, the other day I get a POP alert in light traffic. A few seconds later, there in the other lane of traffic, is a non-light bar sheriff's SUV. (lights in the grill.)

From the moment I got the POP alert, I was looking for a cobra radar detctor or something else that might have set mine off, but the only thing I found was the LEO.

    Hmmmm.....

Often times with POP enabled a detector will alert to instant-on as POP if it only catches a short portion of the burst. The detector saying POP is no indication that POP was indeed used. That's why IMO it's not a good idea for detectors to alert distinctly to POP to begin with.

    X2^^^

This video shows how the X50 which uses the same platform as the 9500i will POP false to I/O K. The guy think's he's putting it in POP mode but he didn't so it's just regular I/O K.

POP is not used in Florida. They do have POP capable radars like the Bee 3. Enforcer and Z series radars but POP is not operable. Your POP alert was from another leaky radar detector. All MPH radar units issued by MPH to Florida does not have the POP function.
