Default My RD is a LEO detector.

There is something strange with the LEO's in my town, the majority (maybe 90%) transmit radar. I have picked up parked patrol cars (off-duty person shopping) lights and siren blaring going to an emergency and of course patrol.

What ever is doing this, powers down eventually, after testing the parked shopper, about 45 minutes latter it was not broadcasting radar anymore.

I have a town i travel in that they leave there radar on (K band) all the time. My guess is there is a a safety built in the car or the unit that turns off power when it senses a drop in battery current.

Keep that quite or they will start using instant on.

    X2.

My town i live in all the LEO's but 1 use C/O KA 34.7 (love those guys) however the one and only I/O guy got me once so i need to be careful. Needless to say i have never encountered I/O since.

    It just takes one time.

Must be the way department to department is trained on operating their radar guns -- the county sheriffs here leave 34.7 blaring. With a V1 they announce their approach in the city for 5 bloody minutes before passing by. However the city PD uses 35.5 either I/O or C/O while on traffic patrol, so almost always a quick-ramping or jerky Ka signal means big trouble ahead

I think there is a tendency for LEO's with 34.7-stalker duel to leave it on, its a pretty cool unit that can do allot of things at once. I know i would leave it on.

I bet they are using 34.7 stalkers.

If your RD is acting like LEO Detector then you are pretty much well off than a town with experienced I/O Operator. Your more than likely to speed without getting pulled over. This happen to me last year when my town was all running K Band until recently, they purchased I/O Ka. I was able to speed anywhere in town like crazy except on Highway (TX DPS).

I wish the Staties near me left it one. They use dual stalkers with I/O and the transmit power turned way down. They are absolutely deadly.
