Default Help Deciding on Remote Unit

I would like to buy a remote unit, but the price of a 9500ci really turns me off. I have no need for the crappy "shifters" either as I will be running an LI.

    Anyway...

I want a non-biased opinion on the radar detection performance of the SR7 vs the STI-R (remote) unit.

Which is better when it comes to K and Ka?

personally the sti-r has the best detection overall. The problem whit it is that it does not come with GPS lockout. The problem with that is if you live any populated area it will be going off all the time because it's so sensative. Why do you really want a remote mount? If you want something that has gps built in, I would go with the 9500i or gx-65 depening on what you are looking for. I know they are not remote units but with a propper install and hardwiring you can make it almost totally invisable. If you don't want a gps unit go for the sti-r or a v1.

I dumped the SRX for the 9500ci. They're not is the same league. The 9500ci smokes the SRX on every band.

As far as the STi-R goes, I personally don't think it's all that practical. It's blazing sensitivity makes for an extreme amount of falsing. I know the $500 extra dollars for the 9500ci is a turnoff, but unless you live in the boonies, I really think the GPS capabilities of the 9500ci are necessary to tame the "never seen before" sensitivity of this radar antenna that the 9500ci and STi-R share.

I personally installed both set of jammers. The diode based jammers have never been know for their reliability and the ZR4s will provide a decent backup system in case the LIs go down.

Why is there scribbles on dj's headlights, you mess up the beauty of the car. Ohh s*** i forgot, a *piece* of a tire, like an inch long to be exact decided he didn't care and broke his headlights and ohh yeah i forgot since dj lives in California and there actually legal there the police department set out S9 units and they go around sniffing for RD's and instead of getting a ticket and so forth the squirles are trained in chewing the RD antenna so that its not usable anymore!

Sucks to be him, and no RD yet has been able to prove its self against a S9. I guess beltronics is going to have to make another RDD's imune detector.
